Swype will not work on internet pages

After dealing with the pre-loaded keyboard for a month or two on the Galaxy S3 (absolute WORST auto-correct ever invented) I decided to go to Swype. For some reason swype will not work when typing in web page text fields. It refuses to type full words and will only type one letter at a time (type a letter and then confirm it in the ribbon above the keys, then repeat with next letter). Effectively makes me type and confirm each individual letter. Anyone else seeing this? More importantly does anyone have a fix? What other "swype" type apps are good? Or can I just make the Samsung keyboard the default for ONLY the web? I do like the www. and .com hard keys, nice touch but the auto-incorrect is just too frustrating to deal with for texting.
