Symbols like * # are not getting accepted

[Android Central Question]

On my Samsung galaxy C7 when I type *111*2# to check the balance it is saying invalid number. Also while speaking to call centre when I type the numbers as requested it is not getting accepted.

When you press a keypad number while in a call, do you hear a tone?
