Sync/Backup Apps

Hi,

Can someone recommend whats a good app for syncing and backing up phone to PC? It would have to sync/backup phone logs, txt messages, etc.

smart switch would definitely transfer all the apps, but inorder to transfer MOST of the data and settings, use something like helium (or carbon) for non rooted devices, and MOST of your apps are supported, and it's quite simple

Helium does a great job, but in my experience it cannot backup ALL of your apps, just MOST of them. Not a huge deal though, still does most of the work. I am intrigued by Smart Switch though, and may give that a try this time around.

SmartSwitch supports backing up to an SD. It literally backs up everything, including Homescreens.

Yes, if you have both phones...you install Smart Switch on both and use it to transfer all from one both to the new phone. It also supports backing up to an SD card.

It does. I've used it from a Note 5 to an S7 Edge and I helped a friend restore his Note 5 to another Note 5. All you do is hook them up with the USB OTG adapter. Just remember to charge both phones (especially the one you're backing up, as the OTG adapter uses the device being transferred to power the device you're transferring data to)

Thanks. Funny thing is I used it a long time ago - via my PC - and it worked fine, I just can't remember if the data came with the apps. Good to know it does.

You can actually make a backup now from your current phone to Smart Switch on your PC, then when the new phone comes in, you just need that to connect to your PC to restore.
