Sync Calendar problem with 2.3.6 in order to upgrade

Here is my situation:
Cannot sync the 2.3.6 phone with Gmail (web). Why? Perhaps because I have another account on the phone when I inherited it from a family member that I never deleted. But, my Gmail account works just fine on the phone, but does not sync with the web calendar.

As I do not want to wipe the phone and lose my calendar, what is the alternative to sync my phone calendar so that I can upgrade to my new phone (4.3) ?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Accounts-Google, and tap your Google account. Make sure Calendar is checked there.

Open the Calendar app, and look through its settings. Make sure it is set to sync with your Google account (and not the previous owner's). Also make sure the specific calendars in your account are selected to be displayed.
