Sync Error

When I go to Settings > Accounts & sync, Google shows a red sync icon. If I tap Google, it shows a sync icon with exclamation point (indicating a problem) on Sync Internet. At the bottom of the screen, it says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly". My phone has said this since I got it over a week ago. Anyone else experiencing this, or have a suggestion on how to fix it?

Thanks,
John

Same problem here too. I'm not sure what that is for except maybe something to do with the stock browser. I'm using Chrome beta and it is syncing correctly with my desktop, so I just disabled "sync internet"

I had this happen. I think it was because I had both my EVO OG and LTE on syncing. I removed it then added back after turning my old EVO off. Fixed it for me. I've seen this on my EVO OG before also.

I'm using Chrome Beta too. I tried uninstalling it, and removing and re-adding my google account. Still have the problem...

I was able to fix that by logging into my google account online. Then going to contacts. Then select the drop down menu to merge duplicate contacts.
Once i did this, my phone re-synced the contacts and is back to green again.

Thanks, IAMSIXNINE. I followed these tips, and it worked for me, too. To get the right drop down menu to merge duplicate contacts, be sure to select all your contacts by checking the little box.

I have the same problem I noticed one of the problem is I try so hard to save and optimize battery life that Smart Sync is the reason why it does that it only work from 8am to 8pm that way and the Sync to the laptop never work it freezed at either contacts or Calendars I had to do it the hard way and remove my SD card to my EVO cause it wasn't another way that I know of.

I was missing this step...

Select the data you want to synchronize with the Exchange Server, then tap Finish Setup

After a few moments, an Exchange Security screen will appear. Tap OK to continue.
*NOTE: If the Exchange Security screen does not appear, you may have to pull down the Notifications bar (select the top of the screen and swipe down)

I tried the merge duplicates but it did not solve the problem. Still the sync error just for contacts and it's been since I first got the phone. And it's only for my main google account. Tried clearing contacts data in applications too.
