Sync issue

Welcome to Android Central! We need more details than that. Are you using the Gmail app or the stock Email app, or some other one? If it's the stock Email app, what email account are you trying to sync? Have you already added the email account successfully? In the Email app, tap Menu, then Settings, and select the email account in question. Check its sync settings, and make sure they are what you want.

Also, swipe down your Quick Settings and make sure you have Auto-Sync turned on. Another place to check is Settings>Data Usage, and make sure you don't have background data restricted, either in general or specifically for the Email app.
