Have been using Palm Treo 650 which syncs great with Outlook for ALL FOUR: Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes. Can I do this with Incredible WITHOUT getting involved with Google?

There is currently no way to do this. There are a couple other threads discussing this issue; check them out.

I only setup a Gmail account to get my phone up and running and then I turned off all the synch features for that gmail account. I then setup my email account for my Exchange server through the HTC email client to synch everything.

Not sure if this is what you are trying to accomplish.

HTC has a desktop sync via data cable, but it isn't ota...you'd plug in every day to update.

BTW, does android have a native task and notes app that will sync? I haven't seen or heard anything other than calendar and contacts.

Companionlink works great and is easy to set up but it syncs with google then OTA to your phone.l

Yes you can

The ONLY solution I am aware at this time its DejaOffice/ComapnionLink for Outlook. It will sync all four categories you got accustomed to in Treo, but it is not cheap. Dejaoffice is the free interface on your Android Phone that can be downloaded from the Market,, but the important element is ComapanionLink @ $39.99 also available at the Market. Free 15day trial

Companion Link with Google works great. I have looked and looked. Almost everything requires google.

Where do you find this "Market?"

HTC Sync. No one seems to know about it for some reason (that includes Verizon customer service). I had to call HTC directly.

Am I missing something? Since you're using Outlook, are you using it to connect to an exchange server? or are you just using it as an email client for your Google email?

Companionlink is the way to go. I used it for 5 years with my WinMo phone and now I'm using it with the Dinc. I do not include Google in my setup. I just sync my phone to my desktop computer "Time & Chaos" program everyday and the same cable charges the battery at the same time.

I think you only need to go through Google if you want to sync wirelessly.

HTC sync did not work with my computer, because I have an XP 64 bit o.s.

There is a Companionlink version made for Outlook.
