Syncing Concerns

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out this battery and how to get the most out of it. Currently, I'm using JuiceDefender and it's been unplugged for 11 hours and I'm at 50%...however, I'm not sure my syncing is working correct, especially for email and Words with Friends (and Facebook, which doesn't want to notify me about anything except for messages, which don't even show up!). How can I get Words with Friends and Mail to sync, while still having the data radios turned off if phone isn't in an area, or is JuiceDefender doing this, I'm just not realizing it's synicng?

Thanks!

Uninstall juice defender, restart phone and see if that resolves it.

But I want JuiceDefender, otherwise the phone is worthless as the battery drains ridiculously fast...

I'm not sure I'm keeping this phone...if I can't have it sync and have decent battery life, I might as well go with an iPhone...

Juice Defender works by disabling the data connection (you still get phone and texts as you know) when the screen turns off. Since the data connection is off there will be no syncing of email/facebook while the screen is off.
BUT-- JD turns on the data in intervals that you can select (every 5, 10, 15 minutes, etc). During these intervals Push apps and email accounts can sync and you will receive the email.

Currently I'm not using JD and have only weather syncing every 3 hours and email every hour. I'm getting about 16-20 hours to ~20% battery remaining.

I play Angry Birds about 30min a day, internet for an hour or so, Pandora for an hour. Also just mess around with the phone. Calls maybe 20mins total. 25/30 texts.

Try uninstalling JD.
I've heard the stock HTC facebook app sucks battery, try the one from the android market.
Uninstall any task killers.
Also adjust your sync times to be less frequent.

Make sure you've done the blockbuster update fix.

Thanks for the response. The 16-20 hours is very encouraging, I just need to get there. Currently I'm 14 hours in with 30% left, so I guess it's not as bad as I thought it was...but, I think the minute I turn off JD, the phone is going to suck up the battery looking for signal at school. I'll try it again tomorrow and see what I get. Thanks for your support!

Supposedly, Words with Friends is a real battery killer. I had it on my Incredible and it was causing me problems but when I took it off my battery went back to normal.
