Syncing issue

I've always had android phones, and to sync my high res and iTunes to my device, I would just take out my micro sd card and put it into my Mac and no problem. But how would I sync without an sd card? I tried android file transfer without luck. I want to make sure I can sync before buying a oneplus 7.i should have mentioned, I'm using a macbook air.

Use an otg cable and sd usb adaptor?

If you can get your Android phone on the same network as your Mac you could use an app on the phone like Airdroid to transfer things wirelessly.
