Syncing S Calendar to .. well, anywhere will do!

I am transferring from one S3 to another. Hoping to solve a charging issue (see my other post, I don't think it'll fix)

I cannot seem to get the events added to the phone Calendar to sync anywhere. Whether it be Google Calendar or otherwise.

I can get events to sync down to the phone, no prob. But anything I entered manually onto the phone, will not show up on other web-based Calendars.

Help! Can someone give me a link or a step-by-step to this? I really REALLY do not want to do it one event at a time!

Also, while I'm at it, I may as well toss in my other question: other than exporting to the SIM (which loses all kinds of fields/data) How else can I transfer my contact list from one phone to the other?

Samsung has an App called Smart Switch that is supposed to do just this. It had no problem syncing my messages... but only about half of the Contact list sent and none of the Calendar. Exactly none of what I needed. *sigh*
