system app removal?

Is there a way to safely remove system apps without rooting? I want to root but am waiting for revoked3 to come out again.

I've tried system app removed but you must still be rooted to remove system apps.

You do have to be rooted to remove any system application. Then the easiest way to remove them is using root explorer from the market.
