Question System storage is taking up too much space

Hey there!
I am using a lenovo tablet which has a storage capacity of 32 GB since 3 years. But it is taking up 17gb for "SYSTEM STORAGE". When I click on it, It shows that it consists of Files required to run android 10. But why does even android take such amount of storage???

I'd appreciate if you get my problem fixed..

What's the model number of the tablet? Did you get this device direct from Lenovo, or might it have been through a carrier? Carriers often preinstall more bloatware that can take up a fair amount of space.
