system update is downloading at very slow speed even at high Internet speed Connie

When marshmallow security update arrived to my moto g turbo edition, it's downloading speed is varying from 10 KB/s to 30 KB/s normally , not more than that and my connection speed is 8 Mbps.

When i download something to check my speed, it downloads at normal speed at 1MB/s.

I don't know why this is happening.
Please help.

That's normal. Motorola servers are very busy with so many people downloading the update at the same time. Sometimes it can get stopped for a while. If this happens to you switch WiFi off, wait for the notification to show "pause" and connect again.

This sucks, this is happening to me. I have 150+ mbps wifi speeds and my phone is downloading a 1.5 gb software update at 0.2 mbps at the most.

I think that speeds shouldn't be throttled across the board, I think that instead, number of Downloaders at a time should be throttled. These throttled Downloaders should go by importance to the world first. For instance, I have a job and contribute to society more than someone else who say, doesn't do either of those, I should be able to download my update (unthrottled) first and the noncontributer can wait. Just my two cents.

Also I hope this new update fixes androids annoying spellcorrect.

System updates normally move much slower. I had MM update on my Note 5 from AT&T. Had to do it over WiFi....no sweat. 1.4GB. I can download 1 GB files in about 10-15 minutes and my average is 20-30 Mbps. In theory, it should be faster, but that sounds about right. That 1.4 GB download...yeah....that took 2 hours.

Just be glad it is being updated. My Droid mini was promised lollipop, then Motorola later said... Sorry, we changed our minds... You won't get lollipop.

Then my Verizon moto e 2015 came with lollipop and at release, Motorola promised to keep it up to date... A few months later they didn't have the common courtesy to say you won't get marshmallow , instead they issued a list of devices getting marshmallow, and my Verizon moto e 2015 wasn't on it.

So many reasons to disagree with your 'anti-throttling' proposal that I wouldn't know where to start. But yeah, I can imagine every OEM accessing the IRS databases every time they release a system update. It could be just great

That would be unreasonable since that would be so so so hard to track who has an "important job" and who doesn't. Also the criteria for what meets that wouldn't be fair.

Also even if Motorola is willing to do it, how many would be willing to give their social security number to Motorola and authorize Motorola to view their irs tax filing, just to get updates to download faster?

The other way to verify employment would be to send in a pay stub along with your driver's license ... But personally, I would not send that in either,just for quicker updates.

I think an argument could be better made that your speeds should be throttled more than theirs because they have more time on their hands and need to access content more quickly to avoid being bored. You have more important things to do than monkey around with your phone, so your phone should be the last to be updated.

I don't subscribe to that argument, but I definitely don't subscribe to yours either. My opinion would be 1) no speeds should be throttled 2) updates should be sent out randomly, in batches, in a way that gets it to everyone quickly enough without hurting network performance and doesn't risk simultaneously bricking all the devices at once.

Wow... Seriously? A little self-righteous there maybe?

I have so many problems with this mindset, it's ridiculous... Although this "criteria" should count for something under certain circumstances, from Moto's point of view your are no better, or worse, than anyone else, and that is how it should be.

This self-righteous mindset that you are somehow better than everyone else and need recognition for that is part of what's wrong with society today.

If it bothers you that much, download the factory firmware image and flash it yourself... The whole process takes 20 minutes, is that quick enough for you?

And BTW, Auto-correct (not spellcorrect) is not part of "Android" per se, it is a function of your keyboard software, although that maybe Google Keyboard, you can update that easily without updating Android, or switch to a different keyboard application (there are literally dozens) that is better at fixing your mistakes.
