System update won't install

Yesterday, for the first time since I bought this phone about four months ago, I got a notification that a system update was available. Unfortunately, when I downloaded and tried to install it, I got a message saying that the file /system/bin/debuggerd contained unexpected information, and the install stopped dead in its tracks. The install log said none of the expected SHA1 checksums were found. I tried renaming the file in the hopes it would just be ignored, but got the same error messages. I tried it with Kingroot disabled, same result. Finally did a factory reset, same result. Arrggh!
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm wondering if some kind soul would be good enough to email me an untainted copy of the original file, /system/bin/debuggerd for Lollipop (5.1.1). Don't know if that alone will remedy the problem, but I'd sure like to at least try it.

TIA to whoever would be willing to do this for me!
