Hi All,
Just got a system update....downloading now.

7.1.1. - Build NMI64C

Improved performance, bug fixes
Security Patch 9-2017

175 MB

Be on the look out

Folks who have updated, do you notice any improvements?

Once I get back home, I am going to apply the update and do a full reset just in case.

Unlock via FPR seems quicker. Apps seem to load quicker but that might be placebo. Scrolling seems the same on mine, maybe a little quicker. I need more time on it to say for sure.

Wish I had two to compare side-by-side.

I plan to reboot one more time and let it settle in. I'm still on the initial reboot after the update.

Has anyone been able to clear partition without doing it on ADB?

Getting the update now but always like to clear the partition

Clearing the cache isn't available on mine from the recovery menu. I haven't tried it via ADB yet.

I usually don't bother unless updating major versions. When we go from N to O, that's probably when I'll put some time into it. So far mine has been smooth after the update.

Yeah I saw that too when I I figured out how to access it. Did some research and seems ADB is the only route but not really necessary any more. We'll see.

On that note I don't see any difference in performance. Maybe I'll switch back to stock and see.

What about FPR unlock speed and accuracy? That was the first thing I noticed. Pop-up widgets (using three dots under icons) seem to load more quickly. App drawer pop-up seems faster and I still think app launch speed is better now as well. It still could be placebo though. I didn't use it much this morning before updating.

Hey, my home button doesn't send me back to my main screen anymore. Is that a setting the update might have reset? Just goes to last screen I was on. 2nd press does nothing. Worked before update.

Yeah looks like a bug that got introduced in the update. I don't see any options in the launcher setting to change that.

Got mine, feels almost the same, but I have noticed scrolling is a bit smoother. Talking about scrolling when dragging your finger on the screen, the flick to scroll was always smooth.

You mean it's acting like the back button?

It must be something with the stock launcher. Mine works normally with the BlackBerry Launcher.

Any Nova users with this issue?

No, I mean if I press it, I end up at the last main phone screen I was on (I have 3 pages). I used to be able to hit it twice, and I would end up at my default main screen (screen that phone boots to). Now, it just sits at whatever one I was on. If you only have 1, then no problem!

Ok, gotcha. Yup, I'm seeing the same.

Ok, now I understand. Mine still works. I can go to my second page of apps, open an app, press the home button and land on that second page of apps. Pressing home twice goes to the main home page.

I still wonder if this is tied to the launcher.

Interesting, I'm running Nova launcher with the new update and have no problems with the home button. It works the same with the 3 pages I also have. I believe it's the stock launcher with a bug. On Nova it worked before and after the update, 2 taps to go to my default main screen. Try running a different launcher to confirm issue.
