T-Mobile: +$10 unlimited price hike due to network improvements.

I find it interesting that everyone is OK with TMo increasing their rates because TMo is the 'cool' carrier that doesn't have service outside of major metro areas but Sprint dropped their $10 data fee, has increased their speeds (for me in the boonies at least) and is working on cutting edge Spark rollout, but TMo is still the 'best'. Ok.

Who says the best? That's just media hype. No carrier is the best.. Since it depends on a person's needs. A carrier can be the best for a person but not for everyone.. Since everyone has different needs.

There are people who will insist that whatever they have is best regardless of the facts. I am biased towards Verizon, but I do try to keep an open mind as much as possible and assess the situation before saying that Verizon is the best and recommending it blindly. After all, it isn't what I want but what the person wants that us important.

I agree it's subjective. But their advertisements are clearly geared towards young people who are more likely to buy into the hype and overlook the increase because of the cool factor. All of the carriers have their issues. It depends on the saturation of the market, speed (among other things) in their area as to whether they are satisfied with their carrier and whether they would feel the price hike is justified. How would VZ, Sprint and ATT customers feel if they went to their new lower price plans and within a month or two had a price hike? Complaints would abound and threads would flourish, is my guess.

I dont think anyones bashing per say, but all it does is take that limited number of people who are on their unlimited plan and increase it 10 dollars, but thats only for new customers.

If youre a current customer you have nothing to complain about

If youre a new customer, still have nothing to complain about. That stateside international texting is a bargain.

And what are you talking abotu sprint got rid of their 10 dollar line? Sprint increased their plans by quite a bit for their plans. I was payin 230 for the 1500 plan with 5 lines, under the framily plan I would be paying just the same, but with less data (1 gb a month per line) and no subsidized line. Sprint used to have a good deal with the 1500 plan, but man, their plans stink these days. You get a lot more for your money with tmobile than with sprint. I booted sprint since chicago had "4G" more than a year ago, but it's still slow as heck.

The difference is that T-Mobile has done things to shake up the market and forced everyone else to respond. When do you something like that, you get fans. Sprint may be curing a self-inflicted would (the $10 data fee) and improving their network, but everyone is doing that. There is nothing particularly newsworthy there. When Spark actually rolls out, if it's revolutionary in terms of user experience and it rolls out to devices already in users' hands, yes, there will be something to talk about.

One thing I love that Sprint is doing though is the Framily plans. I wish T-Mobile would do this. Separate the bills, but allow people to take advantage of group pricing.

Everyone's advertisements are geared towards bringing them more customers. That's why they have advertisements. You can't blame T-Mobile just because their ads happen to be effective.

No one is having a price hike. In fact, people in most of the current plans are getting more data AND staying at the same price. Current unlimited customers are also not having a price hike, and they get to keep their unlimited data. If they want to keep their current plan, they can. The only people that will pay more are those who join after the new tiers of service go into effect AND want unlimited 4G data. But no existing customer is having their prices hiked involuntarily or losing any service.
