I'm charging now to see if it changes anything, but I seem to recall this happening with my G4 with the Marshmallow update. Had to wait then too. 1480425440419.jpg

Changed the time on my system clock. Got the update in no time.

Thanks to k2kool18 for the clock change tip.

Got the T-Mobile 7.0 update and so far so good but what's up with the swipe to unlock on top of the pattern unlock and how do I get rid of it? Thx

Just wanna say I'm very happy with Nougat on my G5. Can't really find a flaw. Good on LG & T-Mobile for getting this out quickly.

Extremy happy...I was about to return my G5 because of the battery, but it is now stellar.

I'm shocked at how much better my battery life has been these plast few days.

It may have been that my initial software was bad and I needed to do a reset, but since the install I am seeing GREAT BATTERY LIFE. Yesterday during a track meet, my daughters used my phone non stop for video streaming for about 2.5-3 hours, then I used navigation to find gas, food , and my way back home, while streaming music..... Result was said battery at 80%. Anomaly??? I will say that it was freaking GREAT.

Three questions for you:

1) what G5 variant do you have?
2) what carrier are you using with your G5?
3) after your OTA upgrade to Nougat, did you perform a factory reset or do anything other than just start using it?

Thanks.

1) LG-H830
2) see thread title
3) I did a reset, only out of habit really. I saw nothing wrong with the initial install.

Thanks, but I guess the edit to my post didn't work, as the 3 questions were actually directed to "Nevs4Nokia".

I have the tmobile CARRIER version, just picked ot up on Tuesday....furious after purchase because of the battery life...FURIOUS!!😠😠

No reset, just the typical download and install....

Even right now...I have 2 hours of SOT, a few phone calls, a few text, streamed a podcast, have email syncing, facebook open and I am at 70%.... I came off the charger about 5 hours ago....not bad... Much better than previous

The "Quote" function isn't working for me, but @Nevs, glad all is working well for you at this point. I have an unbranded RS988 on AT&T, so I'm still waiting on Nougat.

Update on the 7.0 T-Mobile Nougat. It's working fine but the battery is worse than on Marshmallow and I did a Factory reset and still battery is worse. What happened to the Doze updates?

Yeah, I've noticed no improvement with Doze either. My battery life has been relatively the same though.

My G4's battery life really took a hit last year with the Marshmallow update. I feel your pain.

To be completely honest. I haven't noticed extreme differences between lollipop/marshmallow on my Note 4 and Marshmallow/Nouget on the G5. I mean. Bleh. I use my phone everyday for nearly everything. Unless someone can point out something significant.

I've been with LG since the Optimus G. The Nexus 5 was next followed by the G4.

Now with the G5, save for the Nexus device, I've seen LG's software improve by leaps and bounds. Once a company known for late updates with horrible skinned versions of Android, they've become a company known for quick, timely updates with a skin that is considered minimal.

Hats off.

Well I'm glad to hear that. I've never had an LG smartphone. My last LG phone was an enV2. But it still doesn't answer my question as far as OS differences. I feel that the OS updates between lollipop through Nouget have have been pretty minor overall. Again, unless someone can point something out to me.
