Been a faithful T-Mobile Nexus One owner. I am not very happy about this AT&T bologna going on and seriously thinking about jumping ship and going Thunderbolt. Love the build quality, have the fast LTE Network at my house. (suburb of Boston) Has anyone else gone from Nexus One to Thunderbolt and are you happy you did??? I have been a faithful customer of T-Mobile, I also have their HSPA+ Network at my house, getting about 5.5 mb down and 1.3 mb up. I know the Thunderbolt speeds will blow those away but my whole point to this is just looking to see is everyone happy who did jump ship, happy with their decision to go Thunderbolt???
Thanks,
Vinny :-\ :-\

I just switched. Had the G2 which is Tmobile's 4G, and I like the phone and the network better (voice coverage similar, 4G much faster and more reliable IMO).

And yes, we are very happy we switched! (we did it last Thurs just before they announced the AT&T deal)

FWIW, I'm in the twin cities. Can't speak to your network(s) of course.

First off hello fellow Bostonian! And second it's definitely worth the plunge. It's the best phone I've ever had (Storm > Tour > Droid > iPhone4 > Incredible > TB). You'll love the increased service coverage you get and I cannot even begin to explain how awesome the 4g is!

Hey Vinny,

I work in Newton and I've been getting anywhere from 11-23Mbps down (I would say around 15 on avg) and around 1Mbps up just to give you an idea of the network speed in the area.

As far as the phone, it's not perfect but I followed a few of the tips in the forum, most notably turning off Blockbuster updates and turning on "Hearing aids" in Call Settings to get rid of the background hiss, and I've thoroughly enjoyed the phone so far

Sorry, I know you only wanted former T-Mobilers to chime in, just another TB owner saying I hope you choose to take the plunge. You won't regret it!

Just switched from T-mobile with the G2 to the Thunderbolt. 3G is much more reliable, but not as fast (not in a 4G area). But when I had T-mobile I could sit in the same spot for an hour and constantly switch between their '4G', Edge, and 'G'. It was really bad; like I said, Verizon is much more reliable and I don't think you would regret it.

Went from T-Mobile G2 to Thunderbolt. Network is much much better but you'll find the size of the phone takes a little getting used to. Overall I have no regrets. My only complaint about the Thunderbolt would be battery life and some apps I normally use just not working as well as they did on my G2. I'm getting some crashing apps and a few other bugs that I'm sure will be worked out in the near future with updates. Good Luck!
