T-Mobile Note 3: Lockscreen Music Controls gone after update

Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Before the KitKat update, all of my audio programs would display lock screen controls when music or podcasts were playing. I use Beyond Pod and Slacker mostly, but after the update, it no longer pops up. Was this removed? Is there some setting I have to turn back on after the update or something?

EDIT: Actually something weird just happened. I had my phone on the lockscreen as a song changed in Slacker and the music controls flashed on the screen for a split second, but then disappeared. What the heck? I have it set to Swipe and am just using a stock wallpaper.

I get full screen album art with controls now.

I actually found out what the problem was. Turns out, it was an app called Degauss, which is supposed to let you assign actions to headphone buttons. Once I removed it, the music controls showed up just fine.
