T-Mobile S10/+: Pre-Order Thread

You can upgrade JOD through Twitter also and they seem to be easier to deal with. I got the free express shipping as well, but I think once tmobile gets the ok to ship they send all phones out in batches. Probably based on location. I was gonna fight for next day air, but we'll see how express goes. If I get my phone on Wed next week it will prove shipping method doesn't mean much.

Are we expected to receive the phones next week? I preordered over the phone once it went live at 11pm cst.
Got the s10+ ceramic black 512gb

I'm hoping next Monday they will start processing orders. And I think you mean 512gb not 513gb..

Another option that worked well for me was chatting in the T-Mobile app. Just like texting. Got my JOD upgrade with no issues. Beats talking to a heavy accented call center tech.

Dude tell me about it. That heavily accented rep is probably my cousin in India, and dang even I can't understand her!

Seriously though, I will say that Tmo has been good about getting me connected to reps here in the States. Or at least close enough that I can't tell.

Has anyone heard yet of what might be the early shipping dates for those of us who pre-ordered during the first couple of hours of the start of the S10/10+ pre-ordering?

I ordered via the phone as I am a Jump on Demand customer, and the TMobile website specifically says that we cannot do a JOD via their website -- very strange. It was the same last year. It's a hassle, as the first phone rep didn't know what to do (!) and had to put me on hold and finally a supervisor came.

also: what shipping options did you guys get? i have "express" but he told me verbally on the phone that it was the free/included "3-day shipping option".

I just want to share an experience I had pre-ordering at midnight using JOD. I did this for the S9 and the phone reps you speak to that late at night are extremely unprepared and unversed with JOD. They said they did a JOD for me, but it turned out to be a regular EIP.

Long story short, T-Mobile was unwilling to fix things and wanted to leave me on the hook for the phone without the ability to Jump. Even after a store rep phoned into the highest management they could.

I eventually had to go on a Twitter rant in which I tagged John Legere. They acknowledged their mistake and fixed things. I was legitimately minutes away from leaving T-Mobile after 6 years before they decided to fix their mistake.

It didn't end there though, they then claimed I never turned in the phone I jumped from, then said they found it, then kept billing me anyway.

I ended up with a profuse apology and a nice hook-up on my monthly bill.

Suffice it to say, I'll never do a JOD on the phone again (did it in person for the S10), and if I do, it'll be the next morning or midday when I can speak to their stateside reps. Never when pre-orders launch at midnight.

I also noticed from previous pre-orders that my phone never really shipped earlier than those who waited a day or two to pre-order. So I never really saw any benefits from pre-ordering within the first few minutes or hours.

Dang, that sounds annoying! Don't know if I'd have the persistence to complain on Twitter until they fixed the problem, but glad to hear that you did!

Regardless, yeah I think we can all agree - if for differing reasons) -that preordering at midnight isn't worth it. I did that a few phones ago (for the Note 8 I believe), and it didn't seem to affect the ship date. I still think that JOD is a great program, since for about $650 a year I can always have the latest Samsung smartphone. Or even iPhone, if I want to go that route. But Tmo does get disorganized at times. All the more reason to read the fine print, I guess.

Yup, I agree. I love JOD but 1) It's not worth pre-ordering at midnight, and 2) If you do, by all means don't do it over the phone...

Agreed, especially on #2 . I preorder on Twitter, since I've got a written record of everything and I can make sure of what I'm agreeing to before I swipe the card. Which is especially important because I'm doing this at 6 in the morning and am still groggy. :)

Twitter reps seem to be a lot more willing to go above and beyond for you. I've been able to get bill credits to offset the down payment for the last 2 phones through Twitter when no one else wanted to do anything for me.

I called T-Mobile last night to order the S10 Plus in white, 128GB variant. They told me they were all out of the 128GB, all they had left was the terabyte one for $1,550.

I then jumped into Twitter and placed the order for the S10+ I wanted, all within a few minutes. Signed the new JOD EIP and got 2 day free shipping with shipping estimated between 3/6 and 3/8.

i was also informed by someone that "Express" = 2-day shipping, and that there is NO 3-day shipping at all offered. i don't know if that's true or not, but that person claims that it's either next day or 2-day.

i've never communicated with TMobile via twitter. any chance of someone kindly please messaging me to explain how to communicate with TMobile via twitter please? i've never used it that way and don't know how. i have used facebook to handle issues with TMobile and, a few years ago, that facebook team was excellent. however, it was short lived. that team is awful now. almost useless.

thank you in advance.

You're not getting your phone until the 8th. In most preorder cases with Tmo, those that get 'overnight' shipping gets the device early.

I have overnight..so hopefully I get early like before.

If you have a Twitter account, follow tmobile help and just send them a dm and they will send you a pin to verify its you. They also send you a link to sign in to your T-Mobile account if any changes are being made to your account.

Perhaps there are geographic factors as well. I've never gotten overnight shipping and I've gotten every pre-ordered Samsung phone at least two days before release date.

How you managed to do that? Bill credits to offset down-payment?

Ordered mines 2/22.

Getting it expedited shipping. Ship date 3/6-3/8.

Hopefully to get it in hand by 3/8 at least.

JOD and did the pre-order over the phone as soon as it went live (thankfully I'm on the west coast), no problems. I've done pre-orders for the last 4 years or so and never done overnight shipping and got my phone on the same day as everyone else so I wouldn't be worried about that as long as the original receipt says 3/6-3/8 delivery. Typically I have only received the phone a few days earlier than official launch so I'm guessing the same will apply. One thing to note if you haven't done pre-orders before, when they print the shipping label that will trigger the shipped notificaiton. It has not actually shipped and may not for another day or two. They print the label, slap it on the box, put it on a pallet and they keep doing this until it's a full pallet and then it gets loaded into the truck and so on. Seems like every year people get a little worked up because they got the shipped notification but there hasn't been any movement details for a few days.
