T-Mobile to get 11 starting tomorrow

Just saw this article. Now, how many of us will be manually checking every 10 minutes until it hits our phone? 😆

I hope this is correct, but there is a decent chance that pinning our hopes on the word of one customer service rep could be fool's gold. These reps are not very knowledgeable, there is a decent chance that they are confusing a normal security update with A11. I am hopeful though

I call it being cautiously optimistic. let's see what happens tomorrow and the coming weeks.

Well on TMO Tuesday 1/19 i picked up a scarf and when is showed the rep my phone to redeem it she smiled and said oh you have a V60. I said yup love the phone She said well theres a big update coming in a few days so you should like it even better.
Been checking each morning since then. So its nice to see this thread pop up as well.

You guys will have to let the rest of us know how it goes. I'm on Verizon, but wondering if my old saying will remain true: Every update is better than the next.

T-mobile support on twitter is telling people A11 isn't coming until April or May. They can't make up their minds lol

Sounds about right! I hope we get it sooner than later but right now my phone is working just fine.

I too am happy with my phone. Especially battery life.
BUT I have noticed that alerts from email as well as apps like RING and Wyze and a few others tend to come in anywhere from a few seconds to minutes later that on my iPhone 7. This is on cellular or WiFi. I would expect gmail on an android device to notify me when an email comes in, not several minutes later.
But i notice the longer the phone sits idle the longer the delay is.
If i put my phone down i might get the notification quick. But if its been sitting for 15 or 20 minutes the iPhone always gets the alerts and then eventually the LG does.
I was hoping 11 would maybe improve this. But its not related to this thread so ill just say that with an employee telling me that an update was coming to me that meant that week or next. Not a few months.

Wonder if someone screwed up and sent out a memo or notice about the update and then it either didnt happen or they found an issue and are fixing it.
The good news is my phone is working great. Im also now seeing big differences in 4G vs 5G in my area speed test wise.
Im in Dallas stuck home home due to snow and ice and spectrum home internet is down. So working remotely from home using my phone hotspot.
My V60 shows about 60 megs down and 20 up while my S7 edge (back up device on 2nd line) is getting about 5 down and about the same up.

I was soooo wrong about this! I tried!! Lol

With the source of that rumor, I was in doubt.

LG is super slow w/updates so it is wait and see w/them unfortunately.

I'm used to very slow updates having had the v20 and v40.

I read that the major us carriers got the source kernal for android 11 for the V60. What this means for a timeline I haven't a clue but at least it may be something.

It's been showing "in testing" for months unfortunately. The 1st time I noticed was back in December

Yep. That's why I said it's in the "Who knows" when it will be here.

This is the norm for LG.

My Verizon version just had the Android 11 update pushed, but I haven't installed it yet. Anyone know what this circled change is? I use mobile hotspot for my stand alone GPS unit and wondering if/how that could be affected. Looks like a couple of wanted features being removed. I also have zero desire for bubbles on my screen (less than zero if it were possible), so looking like yet another case of every update being better than the next.Screenshots_2021-02-26-13-19-35.jpg

Hey Mooncatt you can turn off bubbles.

I don't know what the mobile hotspot change is.

I have T-mobile and don't use the hotspot so I'm clueless

On my Tmobile version the bubbles were turned off by default. So they shouldn't get in the way. The Velvet UI was added, Live Captions, change fingerprint animations, change accent colors were added also. Nothing earth shattering but a couple of fun little tweaks. The quick settings and notifications definitely look different though
