My screen gets really bright in lock screen. Then gets dim when it's home screen. This gets annoying at night. Any fix?

Just got the update. One thing I dont like is it never notifies me when there's an update i have to check each time

That's usually what I have to do, manually check for updates. However, this morning after unlocking my screen, the update notice just appeared. I was really surprised.
