This might be an issue w/my home network, but sometimes wifi calling isn't "engaged". It's just on mobile. I'll need to turn off/on wifi or reboot the phone. It happens often enough to be annoying. Again, could be my network. I'll see if it happens on other wifi networks.

Sometimes their back end hiccups and doesn't allow the connection. It happens to my friends even w/ iPhones.

Ah, OK. Looks like it also happens to my wife's iPhone occasionally.

I have TMobile. I've had my 2 XL for a little over a month. Sometimes I have MMS issues but it's pretty rare. I believe it's the app (messages) more than anything since I had the same issues on my 6p.

I have recently noticed that my mms messages will not download on WiFi. As soon as I toggle WiFi off and retry, they download quickly. Unsure why. Sending is not an issue, but receiving is.
