Hi guys, I'm currently torn between buying either the galaxy tab 2 10.1 or the tab 3 10.1. I noticed that the 2 comes in a great bundle at Bestbuy that includes a dock and keyboard and it's $350. However, isn't the Tab 2 pretty old? Has anyone had any experience with the two tablets and noticed any significant changes or differences between them? I know that the 3 runs a newer version of JB but is it really even worth it to get the 3 versus the 2? The bundle seems like a great deal to me however I don't want to buy the Tab 2 if it's outdated. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello..
I know you mean well but... It's a pretty easy decision.. either you want to save money or you want the latest & greatest.. nothing anyone here can say to change your mind one way or the other..
You need to live with your decision either way...

But if you insist.. Then let me suggest this, Buy the bundled deal for $350.. you should have a 14 day return window.. if you are happy with it for what YOU are going to use it for.. then you are set.. and you saved money... I returned a Nexus-7 2013 for the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0... I didn't give a Sheet about the specs.. After playing with this Tablet in the store I knew it was the right Tablet for ME..
The Bundled Deal may be the choice for you..
Good Luck.

P.S.
Youtube is your friend... Go look at videos on both units... It may help you decide.. :-)

There really isn't any different except tab 3 runs 4.3 while the tab 2 just got updated to 4.2.2 that's all the difference spec wise there very much the same just different design and firmware.

Here are the basic differences between the Tab 3 7.0 and the Tab 2 7.0

Tab3 runs newer OS - Android Jellybean 4.1.2
Smaller than the Tab 2
Weight .67 lbs (Tab 2 is .76 lbs)
External - supports up to 64 GB SD card (Tab 2 only 32 GB)
Faster Processor - 1.2GHz Dual Core (Tab 2 ? only 1.0Ghz Dual Core)

I really depends know how you are going to be using the device. If fir general, we browsing and app usage the 2 should be fine. Otherwise, consider the 3 for anything beyond that.

There isn't a great deal of difference between the two devices. The tab 3 is newer and so I'd expect it to be supported for longer and it can take a larger capacity micro SD card. The thing I like about my tab 2 is the front facing speakers. If I were buying again I'd probably get the tab 2 for the front facing speakers' both are mid range devices but I only use mine for streaming videos, listening to music, web browsing, checking emails and light gaming so the processor in either is sufficient.

You could look at the minute differences between each and see what features are more important to you, I.e latest version, SD card, front facing soeakers , price.
