How come you guys are so far behind releasing any info on the Tab A9.7? Where can I find a review? It's on sale here in Canada at Costco but you cannot try it out, and not on the shelf at the Samsung counter in Best Buy and no one there knows anything about it! I have the Note 8 and want to upgrade to the Note 10.1, but at a 100 bucks less the Tab A9.7 seems a better deal but have no idea what it is capable of. Should I go for the Surface 3 since it has software available to boot into android?

Welcome to Android Central! For one thing, it was slated for release in the US only a week and a half ago: Samsung's Galaxy Tab A to be available in the US starting May 1 | Android Central. I can't speak for the AC editorial staff, but since this was not one of the more high-profile launches, I would guess that it's a somewhat lower priority in terms of reviews. As the Tab A isn't intended to be a flagship, Samsung probably didn't send out preview units to all of the major outlets, so in order to actually review this unit, the staff would have to wait until it was actually available publicly in order to purchase it.

You can contact the staff here to make the suggestion directly: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sendmessage.php

This is a budget tablet. Low screen resolution and old processor along with 1.5 gigs of ram. This is a budget tablet where some 9f samsungs other offerings are better specced.

Re: Tab A 9.7

I bought the tab A 9.7 directly from S Korea as they offer a 32gb model there, yet only a 16gb here in USA - this is with the S-pen. $339
I had a Note 8.0 which I loved but it died, and needed a replacement (subsequently fixed with a new motherboard - scary how much I know about these tablets now).
I have been very happy with my purchase. The screen is not 100% crisp (small letters can display pixellation (sp?)), but the trade off is incredible battery life. Watching movies is very good/sharp.
Speed is good. The S-pen works exactly like on the note-8 (yes, I do draw on it).
It came with powerpoint/word/excel loaded.
Up to 128gb card possible; I have a 64gb in it and works well.
Great for surfing and reading, emails, etc.
The case I bought did NOT have a pen cut out so I bent a metal pen clip to allow me to reach in and pull it out.

Re: Tab A 9.7

I just got the Tab A 9.7 from Best Buy as an exchange for my Nexus 7 that was having some problems. I came here to get some information and I have found none. How does everyone that has one like it?

Re: Tab A 9.7

Took my Tab A 9.7 back and got the Pro 10.1. I could not stand the screen resolution on the Tab9.7.

Re: Tab A 9.7

We have this tablet. The only problem (not sure if problem is the right word for it) is I've noticed flickering on it. Got it a month ago, and the flickering started about 2 weeks ago. I adjusted the brightness and it would go away. But if anything changed on that it would come back, not all the time. Like today it was fine till a few minutes ago and started up again.
