tab e messaging problem

I have had the tab e 8 for about a week now, on the att network. Recently within the past day or so when I send a text to someone, they receive a blank text or 1/1 message. I have tried restarting the tablet thinking maybe that may do something, but hasn't done the job. What should I do, any thought?
 
It could be a SIM problem -- you could check with AT&T to see if you can try a new SIM.
 
Ok thank you, I did try calling them about the problem and they tried resetting the signal to the number associated with the the tablet and didn't fix the problem. So you are probably right, I'll go to the store today, thanks.
