So ever since the update to marshmallow, my tab is turning itself back on? Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone have a resolution?

Do you mean that after powering it off completely, it powers back on? Or do you mean that after the screen goes to sleep, it comes back on again?

I think this is also my problem. I turn tab off, put it on charger overnight, in the morning it's on again. Just tried it during the day and same, 100% Charge and it turns itself on, is there some new setting I've missed?

Welcome to Android Central! Same question for you--when you say you turn the tab off, do you mean you're powering it down completely, or just turning the screen off?

Exactly same problem since august marshmallow update (no problem with the previous marshmallow update). I put the powered off tablet on charge and after some hours I find it fully charged (100%) and powered on. I noticed that this happens after about 30 minutes the tablet is fully charged. No other problems when I use the tablet is very stable and reactive.

I am having the same issue, I power down completely, plug tab in to charge, go to bed, then I wake u in the morning and it has turned itself on by itself overnight. It doesn't happen when it's not plugged in, only when on charge. I have tried to duplicate the problem during the day with no luck. It didn't do this when I first got the tab, but I was wondering if it had something to do with the last update. I called Samsung and tech support had no clue, I had my OS refreshed at store & did hard reset with no luck. I just hope it's an update issue and they fix it, I would hate to send my tab off for repair when they never heard of the issue. My bf has same tab but he has a carrier (mine issues wifi only) and his doesn't do it unless he hasn't gotten the update yet.

I think it's a problem definitely associated with the last update, it's not an hardware problem. I have exactly the same problem of ozonebaby77420: after some time (30 minues? 1 hour?) the tablet is fully charged and still plugged to the power adapter it turns itself on. I have, since the last update, the same problem on my two galaxy tab s2 (mine 9.7", my wife's 8"). Samsung has to fix this.

Did this start after a system update? Try wiping the cache partition: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28382

Oh... and this does nothing.... one I have a wifi only tab.... but I still wiped the cache partition and it did not help plus i went to Samsung store had tab reflashed; that did not work and I even did a hard reset/boot back to factory settings as if I just pulled it out of the box; that didn't work. All I know is I am getting sick of the dawn thing turning itself on all by itself when it a on charge. Yah it seems to be approx 2.5 to 3 hrs of it being on charge and yes I have the thing completely turned off when I plug it in and not just screen off. I am pretty tech savy and this has me stumped other than a OS glitch/issue so Samsung needs to work with android to get this issue fixed... however Samsung tech support still doesn't have a clue, they want me to send my device in for repair when it doesn't need repair they need to fix the OS as a whole not my tab. The other galaxy tab s2 that's in the house has not yet received the update, plus that's on the sprint network, but I am sure once it gets the update it will be doing it too.

Mine also, after a full charge it turns on. I turn it off at midnight found it on at 7 AM. Screen time shown 4 hours on, but in Sleep mode and battery at 100%. Hope this helps, we need a fix. Can this cause an overheat.?

I just had another system update yesterday and still no fix for it. Sometimes if I turn it off, plug it in to charge, turn it back on while on the charger then while still on charge turn it off again... sometimes it will stay off. I know it has to have something to do with an update or something especially since others are having the same problem. It's very frustrating, I wish they would fix it.

The only solution that I have found to work is have tab on, plug tab in, restart tab while on charge, once restarted on charge then shut it down. I have tried this a few times and when I do that it seems to stay off when charged. It's an inconvenience but at least it stays off. Wish Samsung & android would fix this issue already.

I also have seen this happen on 2 nights recently - only at night as i slept - even when the tab is fully powered off , Not on charge , and with mobile data /Wifi Off ( and do not disturb fully enabled lol ) -- the damm thing was fully awake before me -- 2 or 3 times a night --a little weird i thought 🤔

I'm just glad to see I am not the only person who is having this issue. The couple work around that I have mentioned in this thread only work half the time, not all the time. I personally think it has to do with the marshmallow update.. Ya it's very weird, I have been through all the settings and cleared cache partition numerous times and nothing seems seems to fix it :( the tab never did this until the damn update, wish I could go back back to lollipop.

I went on androids website and in the bottom right corner it says submit feedback, so I let them know about the issue... here's the link https://source.android.com/source/index.html Samsung keeps wanting me to send my device in and so does geek squad, but I know the device is fine and that it's some sort of error in the OS. I'd really hate to send it in for them to find nothing, replace it and new one have the same problem.

Out of curiosity, why power down the tablet? I only turn mine off when I'm transporting it packed in luggage or something like that. I have a cover for mine and when I close the cover it goes to sleep (dark but still on) and when I open the cover it instantly comes to life. I leave it that way 24x7 with no problems other that a little battery use. When I charge it with the cover closed it stays dark no problem.

Hi, i have exactly the same issue with my galaxy tab s2 9.7. Do you have found a solution ? Thanks a lot
