Tab S2 turning itself on

I've had the same issue, it may well be because of the recent siftware update, but until reading this I thought it was because I just started using the Google chromcast dongle, because it can turn on my telly automatically when I cast, I thought it was restarting my S2 when I switch it off overnight, I have just wiped the cache as recommended here, I'll know tomorrow if that helped.

Hi, i have exactly the same issue with my galaxy tab s2 9.7. Do you have found a solution ? Thanks a lot

Well I tried wiping the cache as suggested here but that did nothing to help other than slow my tablet down for a little while, so the only solution seems to be a full factory reset which I've carried with success, I simply restored all my settings and apps afterwards from my galaxy S7 edge and everything is normal again, I also have the galaxy tab S2 9.7 (WiFi only version).

So my Galaxy S2 started turning itself on & off tonight (last update December 2016). It says it is charging irregularly, but it isn't plugged up, at all. Any ideas?

Weird thing, it then started telling me that I needed to install some app if I was going to use some power sharing cable, or else it would drain my device to the other one. There was no cable installed at all.

Then, it wouldn't charge when I did connect the power cable. I even tried 5 different ones (including the original). Finally I shut it down completely and it would take a charge. 5 hours later it went from 15% to 90%.

Seriously, if you have any ideas, I welcome them.

I think it's a problem definitely associated with the last update, it's not an hardware problem. I have exactly the same problem of ozonebaby77420: after some time (30 minues? 1 hour?) the tablet is fully charged and still plugged to the power adapter it turns itself on. I have, since the last update, the same problem on my two galaxy tab s2 (mine 9.7", my wife's 8"). Samsung has to fix this.

My galaxy s2 tab doing the same thing.... any resolution yet?

Here why my tablet keeps turning on even when not connected to charger and full turned off. My tablet is constantly being hacked by my a@$!€%! neighbor. He told another neighbor he was doing this. I reported him to cops but they dont do anything. I also reported to my ISP but they said i need solid proof b4 they can do anything ....ya. Ok.

Why do you think the tablet is hacked, just because it powers on by itself? Does it do anything else unusual? Your neighbor might just be messing with you, especially if he doesn't like you.:-\ Does he strike you as the smart hacker type who could pull off a complex hack like this, or does he seem like an average d-bag schmuck? If the latter, I highly doubt you're hacked. It's more likely that the tablet is malfunctioning. If you also have a Galaxy Tab S2 (which this thread is about), that's a pretty old device, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was starting to malfunction.
