Tablet lagging while casting Hbo Go

Whenever I use hbo go and cast it from my Nexus 10 the tablet gets really sluggish. Moving from home screen to home screen and typing are really slow.

Tried the same on my Nexus 5 and there's no lag. Anyone else having a problem?

Running stock 4.4 on both devices

I don't know but it could have to do with the power of the N10 and the specs are getting older but by no means should it be lagging

I have noticed this on my 2013 N7 too, figured I was crazy, but maybe it is an issue.

Another oddity is that HBO GO seems to raise the volume of my N7 to full each and every time I cast anything from the application.

HBO Go should be like Netflix and YouTube for chromecast right? Once you started playing, you should be able to kill the app and won't affect the chromecast streaming right? Could you just manually kill the HBO Go app once the show started?

I believe I have killed the app before but can't remember what happened. Although if I kill it I would have to start it again to get the pause, play etc actions back.

What I'm trying to figure out is what is causing the lag. All the work is being put on the Chromecast so the tablet shouldn't lag.

I just noticed that it does this on my Moto X too. Netflix and everything else are fine.

It's doing this on my Nexus 5 also. It's happened a couple times in the past week. It's obviously not an isolated issue.
