Well, since it didn't take long for the no-fun police to clamp down on the thread going over at precentral, I'll cut/paste over here (plus one or two more):
Here are some I have on my phone (which is similar to what I have on my tablet at home) in no particular order.
Google Earth – The Earth, as Google sees it.
Google Body – Like Google Earth, but for the insides of the human body.
mSecure - Encrypted password/login storage app.
Weatherbug Elite – weather app with animated radar. Also has a national pollen map (my son has allergies.)
Speed Test – good for checking the speed when on a public/hotel wifi.
Wifi Analyzer – I use it to make sure my wifi is running on a channel that my neighbors are not. Also really good to detecting dead zones.
Wifi File Explorer – To transfer files to/from a computer on the LAN. Runs through the computer’s browser so you don’t need to load any server software on the PC.
Moboplayer – My favorite video player.
Pandora – It’s Pandora
Netflix – Netflix streaming
Paper Camera – A really interesting camera app that provides realtime effects like “comic book” and “pencil sketch,” you’ll just like to turn it on and look at the world around you!
Vimeo Droid – Like Youtube, but for grownups. …seriously though, if you have a Vimeo account you can access your videos on your mobile.
LHSee – Real time data from the Large Hydron Supercollider in Switzerland. Not a lot of interaction, but the background information and videos available of the collider are pretty interesting.
Folder Organizer – used for making smart folders on your homepage (so you don’t have to clutter the screen up with icons of everything.) You can set up app shortcuts, contacts, bookmarks, etc. the best part (imo) is that it will automatically remind you to categorize any new apps you load so they don’t get forgotten in the app locker (very useful to remind yourself to add them to a folder if you install them remotely from a PC.)
Splashtop – A VNC on steroids. Use your PC remotely.
Games - ...Probably better to be a thread all of its own. There’s so many to choose from. But here are a couple that are neat and not well known.
-Apparatus – You have to put blocks, motors and linkages together to get the blue ball into the blue box. My 4 year old loves playing it with me even though it can be a challenge for his dad at times… and his dad is an engineer!
X Construct – You have to build bridges across ravines that are strong enough to let the train pass by. It they aren’t strong enough… the train falls.
Cordy – A lot like “Little Big Planet” on Playstation
Konas Crate – Fly a crate to your tribal chief using a rocket sled. Yes, a rocket sled.
Super Stickman Golf – Simple graphics but very challenging golf game.
Sprinkle – Amazing water physics as you work to put out fires that threaten little alien’s homes. Requires Chainfire as it is a Tegra HD game. (Don’t know if Chainfire works on the TP.)
A Space Shooter for Free - Decent top-down "1943" type arcade shooter. The voice acting is over the top and what really makes the game.
Those are just some.
Also, be aware that you can access the Android Market from your PC ( market.android.com ) to review apps and even load them onto your mobile. Also have a look at
AppBrain.com which is a good site for app reviews.
