What tablet specific (or that at least scale for the screen sizapps can people find or get to work on their TPs?

So far I can find:

* Zinio
* Evernote
* News republic

Well, since it didn't take long for the no-fun police to clamp down on the thread going over at precentral, I'll cut/paste over here (plus one or two more):

Here are some I have on my phone (which is similar to what I have on my tablet at home) in no particular order.

Google Earth – The Earth, as Google sees it.

Google Body – Like Google Earth, but for the insides of the human body.

mSecure - Encrypted password/login storage app.

Weatherbug Elite – weather app with animated radar. Also has a national pollen map (my son has allergies.)

Speed Test – good for checking the speed when on a public/hotel wifi.

Wifi Analyzer – I use it to make sure my wifi is running on a channel that my neighbors are not. Also really good to detecting dead zones.

Wifi File Explorer – To transfer files to/from a computer on the LAN. Runs through the computer’s browser so you don’t need to load any server software on the PC.

Moboplayer – My favorite video player.

Pandora – It’s Pandora

Netflix – Netflix streaming

Paper Camera – A really interesting camera app that provides realtime effects like “comic book” and “pencil sketch,” you’ll just like to turn it on and look at the world around you!

Vimeo Droid – Like Youtube, but for grownups. …seriously though, if you have a Vimeo account you can access your videos on your mobile.

LHSee – Real time data from the Large Hydron Supercollider in Switzerland. Not a lot of interaction, but the background information and videos available of the collider are pretty interesting.

Folder Organizer – used for making smart folders on your homepage (so you don’t have to clutter the screen up with icons of everything.) You can set up app shortcuts, contacts, bookmarks, etc. the best part (imo) is that it will automatically remind you to categorize any new apps you load so they don’t get forgotten in the app locker (very useful to remind yourself to add them to a folder if you install them remotely from a PC.)

Splashtop – A VNC on steroids. Use your PC remotely.

Games - ...Probably better to be a thread all of its own. There’s so many to choose from. But here are a couple that are neat and not well known.

-Apparatus – You have to put blocks, motors and linkages together to get the blue ball into the blue box. My 4 year old loves playing it with me even though it can be a challenge for his dad at times… and his dad is an engineer!

X Construct – You have to build bridges across ravines that are strong enough to let the train pass by. It they aren’t strong enough… the train falls.

Cordy – A lot like “Little Big Planet” on Playstation

Konas Crate – Fly a crate to your tribal chief using a rocket sled. Yes, a rocket sled.

Super Stickman Golf – Simple graphics but very challenging golf game.

Sprinkle – Amazing water physics as you work to put out fires that threaten little alien’s homes. Requires Chainfire as it is a Tegra HD game. (Don’t know if Chainfire works on the TP.)

A Space Shooter for Free - Decent top-down "1943" type arcade shooter. The voice acting is over the top and what really makes the game.

Those are just some.

Also, be aware that you can access the Android Market from your PC ( market.android.com ) to review apps and even load them onto your mobile. Also have a look at AppBrain.com which is a good site for app reviews.

Nice recommendations, much to check out.

I was running Worms yesterday quite happily ... I know it's an old game but my unwritten rule is, if there is a version of Worms available for a platform then load it.

It's not tablet-specific but I was enjoying finally reading PDFs properly on the TP using ezPDF too.

It's a very nice app - I like the page turning effect.

It's working well for me, eReading bliss ...

Installed Google Earth, Google Maps and the Streetview add-on ... All working really well.

Couldn't find Google Body (I have the Market Fix patch installed).

X Construct takes me way back to similar apps, I love that kind of thing.

Superstickman Golf is great on my iThing, I'll give it a go on the bigger screen.

Not one issue with CM today, it's just been rocking along ...

Any browser recommendations?

I've been using Opera Mobile. It has a "start page" kind of like Chrome. Instead of tabs, you have a button that you tap to reveal your different windows that you can than switch to, close, open a new one.

Dolphin HD is another one. I like the tabs and gestures, though I usually forget about them and just use the onscreen buttons.

I don't remember the "staff picks for tablets" tab that now seems to appear in the market?

I have become a fan of Dolphin HD browser. Tabs, Webzine, and various addins make it quite useful. It is also very fast and clean.

If you are looking for a different keyboard "Thumb Keyboard" is very nice for tablets.

Something I noticed yesterday - google photos is now integrated with google plus - so if you use that - the interface is actually better to look at your photos than the gallery...

My amazon account is Canadian since I live in Canada and I was not able to download the app neither.

Free alternatives in the market are pretty impressive however: ThinkFree Office Lite and Kingsoft Office.

Just a head's up, Office Suite Pro 5 is the Amazon Free App of the Day. Normally it is $15.

Quickoffice came free on my droid phone and tablet, so that is what I use, but if you don't already have a doc editor, the price is right.

It took me forever to figure out how to download apps from Amazon to my TP, but I eventually got it after about 5 minutes

I wish amazon UK would remove there fingers from their asses and give us some amazon love :(

Great heads-up, I've just installed it and was about to post the same thing.

If you have the following attached to your 'One Click Install' Amazon settings then you can get it:
- A valid US shipping address
- A valid US credit card number

Now, that credit card number could be one of those pre-pay Visa Card things from the US or, I guess, it could just be a valid credit card number that you never plan on using to actually purchase things ...

About 7 hours left on the deal ...

Friendcaster works beautifully on the TP. In the market, it looks like the phone app, but on the TP, in Landscape mode, it changes to the tablet interface
