Tablet switches back to dhcp from static IP on its own

My tablet kept dropping wifi, after contacting Samsung, they told me to select the static IP option which apparently did solve the problem.

However, for the last few weeks the tablet switches back to DHCP on its own, whenever I go back to settings, I see that it is back on DHCP.

I don't want to be on the phone forever again with Samsung, any ideas how to solve this?

The model is SM-T230NU
Android 4.4.2

Selecting the wrong static IP will force the phone back to DHCP. (I don't know who "educated" the Samsung employee, but "static IP" is almost never the solution to any problem in a phone.)
