I finally got a Nexus 10, thanks to all who helped answer my earlier questions. Now that I have it, I have a question about using the Nexus 10 in conjunction with my (Android) smartphone. There appears to be two leading apps for this:

The Tablet Talk app looks like a better app since you can make/receive phone calls, but it does cost $2.99 so I want to make sure the app is worth it.

And security concern: If I pair my Nexus with my phone via an app, will that app have the ability to actually read the text message and know who I'm talking to?

I don't connect the 10 to a phone but with a network connection use google voice throughan app called Grove Ip. Free calls for now.

I would check out Mighty Text first if I were you. That's the first one I tried out, but I wasn't totally thrilled. Not all of the texts would sync back and forth between the devices, and not all of my contacts came through (eg, some contacts, even though they were in my contacts list on my phone, only showed up as phone numbers in the app on my tablet). So I'm currently using Verizon's app for this, but am finding pretty much the same problems. It's worth a shot though, maybe your experience will be different than mine.

Don't regret to shell that $2.99. That tablet talk app is amazing! Since my friend referred it to me, I installed it right away. I seldom use my phone now and use my tablet more often. No problem whatsoever in syncing my messages. Send and receive sms (and mms, too!)

I second the vote for Tablet Talk. It's a great app that does exactly what it is supposed to do. It's absolutely worth the $3 that I spent for it and I honestly don't even use it that often.
