Tablet Wont Connect To PC Anymore

[Android Central Question]

Up until a few weeks ago I could connect my Samsung Tab S 10.5 to my laptop. Now it doesnt, every time i connect my laptop spits out a "Cant regonise this USB error".
I have tried every troubleshooting part on my laptop and nothing works.

I connected my wifes Samsung Tab A and it connected straight away. This was using ths same cable.

Anyone know whats wrong with mine and how to fix this? I am at my wits end

Welcome to Android Central! Use a can of compressed air to blow out the tablet's microUSB port, and a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts. Does the problem persist?
