Take A Second

I have a friend stationed in Japan, facebook tells me he's ok...my prayers go out to everyone affected. Or is it Effected...always get those two mixed up...

My family lives in Japan I'm glad that they are alright. My prayers to all the victims of this devastating calamity.

Make sure that your family checks in. The Japanese gov't is urging people to stay off the telephone and cell lines for non-emergency calls. Tell them also that google has a person finder like the did for New Zealand.

I don't need to, my grandfather lost two brothers that day and his response? "My heart goes out to them..."

So you were saying?

I know your trying to help, but I don't want anymore anger or hate in this thread.

Garbage was deleted.

Thank you. I don't know about you guys, but as someone of Korean descent, even I think those comments were ostentatious. My mother country, along with China, was annexed and abused by Japan. I cannot even describe some of the horrendous things that Imperial Japan committed when trying to "purify" Asia.

That was then, this is now.

The government has changed, the people have changed. Yes, there are many flaws that remain with Japan, but who's to say differently about the US, England, or any other country?

My heart and prayers go out to all of my Japanese brothers and sisters who have dealt with this tragedy, and for those that have lost loved ones, may there souls be at ease.

When you really sit down and think about it free from distractions, you cry.

That's what I did, anyway.

The tragedy is so great. My mil is from Japan and we are waiting to hear if our extended family is okay.

I was just in Japan last year and I finally heard from a dear friend there. says that the country is in shock and the losses are massive. If you get a text from the red cross please think about donating a couple of bucks as they are looking at deaths in the tens of thousands.

Cooling System Fails At Fukushima No. 2 Plant
TOKYO (Kyodo)--The cooling system failed at three reactors of the quake-hit Fukushima No. 2 nuclear power plant Saturday, the operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. said.

The company, which has already scrambled to deal with radiation leaks at its Fukushima No. 1 plant, notified the industry ministry that the failsafe system at the No. 2 plant stopped functioning as the temperature of coolant water has topped 100 C.

Anyone who follows vitacoco (coconut water) on twitter and retweets their post, they will donate one dollar. Easy way to help if you cannot financially contribute.

I know nothing about nuclear reactors, but can only imagine that this is as scary as it sounds. I am not religious, but am praying hard.

I was born and raised in Okinawa, Japan for the 13yrs of my life. No one that I know was there at the time the earthquake hit yesterday. My mom's family is from Taipei, Taiwan and from what I heard everything is ok over there as well.
