Just got my Note 8. I love almost everything about the phone except for the long screen and the Samsung software bloatware. About the long screen, why do you think they made it so long? I can't see good use for the extra length, a wider screen would help me more for reading documents Etc

About the Samsung software options, like Bixby, how can I best get rid of all of them? I want to get as close as possible to vanilla Android. Thanks!

you sound exactly like me three days ago. I disliked the same things. try Bixby remapper and you can uninstall a lot of the bloatware. I have Bixby remapped to my QuickPic and google turned off. the form factor was a bit off-putting at first, but I don't feel it now. get it customized the way you like it in settings and I think you'll be very happy.

The extra long screen didn't bother me as much as I though it would.

It never really bothered me, just had to get used to it. Which actually happened faster than I'd expected. My initial reaction was about the size, as the same with the S8, but I loved the design of the Note more for some reason.

Now that I've had it for over a week, I absolutely love the screen

I've got both the n8 an s8 plus in it all was just natural for me . Never even thought about it

I had time to get used to this form factor with the S8+, for those that had the Note 7 (even if only briefly) it seemed to be moving in this direction (slimmer/taller). I believe Samsung was going for large screen that was easier to hold for most people. (not everyone could manage holding a Note form-factor one handed easily) IDK, They may have also been going for the slim look?

Cheers,
BR

hmm I really like the extra screen space. putting a note 8 beside a iphone7 with the same document, I see more not less on the Note 8. I like not having to scroll as much. I actually see more of the documents. it's nicer on Instagram and Twitter as well. movies look much better as i watch letter box films with less of a black bar pair now.

I have big hands so screen size doesn't matter to me and I had the S8 plus so all the work arounds were easy for me love the note 8 so far.
