Taking a screenshot w/ Pixel XL

Is there an easier way to do it? Loved my Galaxy 5 and just swiping my hand across the screen.
Yesterday on my XL I was able to hold power and then volume down. Today? On Instagram trying to take a screenshot and I couldn't.
Not sure why.

I don't know about Instagram, but some apps block screenshot functionality.

Well I tried 7 or 8 times and finally got one. Apparently I'm not hitting the keys perfect? This is an extremely dumb way to have to do this. It's awkward. You need to use both hands to do it. Fail on this.

I feel like I have had to use 2 hands to take a ss on every device I have ever owned, but if you're annoyed with it, there are plenty of apps in the Play Store that can simplify it.

hoping google assistant brings back that functionality. The now on tap way of doing it was the best for me as I didn't want to save them in the first place.

Agree ... I miss the screenshot from on tap and the easy share option, I used that all the time on 6P.
