Does anyone know if, with the Moto G6 (I would imagine it's fairly similar in the other models) if there's any way to take a picture without touching the screen? I'm aware that you can say "hey google, take a picture," but when I try that, all that happens is that the camera app opens. That's good, but not enough -- I want to be able to actually take the picture hands-free. Thank you.

Hmm ..I just tried "hey Google" take a picture with my Note 20U and it open the camera and started a 3 second countdown and took a picture

Uh oh. So I guess now something else is broken??? No, seriously, though, mine opens the camera app, says "all right, get ready," and just sits there.

You can try to reset the Google app by clearing its data and force stop , but u would have to toggle "hey Google " back on , worth a shot?

It's probably irrational, but I always worry that resetting an app (never mind such a major app as Google itself) is going to cause at least as many problems as it solves. But if it's my only option, I may have no other choice. I really want to get this to work.

Also, what do you mean by having to toggle "hey google" back on?

That means you would have to re-enable Hey Google Assistant voice commands

It turns it off in settings of Google assistant when cleared data and force stop

Just wondering -- did you see my most recent post (with the link from Google Support)? What do you think in light of that?
Yeah , just read it , I did the same told assistant take a picture on my pixel 5 and it did a countdown and took it

That article is based on the Google camera even though you have the same symptoms. Works fine on all my devices.
