Talk or answer calls through Xoom?

Just got a new wifi xoom and was curious if you could answer calls when connected via bluetooth. That would be really nice and if not I'd hope Google would add that in at some point.

HP/Palm's WebOS will do this with the Touchpad and Pre 3.

Checkout sipdroid. You'll want to google for a guide on how to set it up to get VOIP but I was chatting with someone last night who set it up - I haven't checked it out for myself yet but will look into it this weekend.

I meant answer incoming calls on the Xoom that is tethered to your phone.

Watch the WebOS demonstration for an idea of what I'm talking about.

I asked this same thing a day ago.

Coming from a Palm Pre+, I too think this would be a great feature to have. If for no other reason than I wouldn?t have to get up to get my phone when it rings?

Yea I can't find a single thing on it. I would imagine since it has a speaker and can act as a bluetooth audio, you would be able to do that.

Yeah. Considering you can buy a piece of junk like this to do it for $30, adding this functionality into an android tablet would be pretty straight forward.

Amazon.com: IOGEAR Solar Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit GBHFK231 (Black): Electronics

I realize there is google talk, but I just want to have the simplisity of having it sync with my cell phone.

Exactly. I would love to be able to be browsing on my Xoom and have it be bluetooth connected to my Thunderbolt on the table so when someone calls I can just push a button and answer it from the tab.

If nothing else, once the touchpad releases and people start to see it available on the WebOS system, I would think it shouldn't take long for someone to offer it as an App.

I don't know if the Xoom has, but it'd have to have a bluetooth profile that said it was a headset, then you could just pair it with your phone.

Maybe that's why they didn't do it... if it shows as a headset, you wouldn't be able to connect for keyboards, data transfer, etc.

I know on a PC though you can connect through a bunch of different profiles. I had a dell laptop act as a headset for an old Treo.

Maybe this could be an app? - I'm not sure if you can add a bluetooth profile without being root though, I'm not sure how it would work. I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility though.

Its sipdroid + Google voice. People have been able to receive calls though I have only made them. As of right not that is the only way other than gtalk which does video also. It does NOT allow BT headphones in conversation for gtalk though does for sipdroid.

As there is no dialer installed alternative dialers have to be used and a phone number has to be asigned. That's where Google voice comes in.

I have several BT profiles. Two for Moto S9 headphones. One for DX tethering. And keyboard. I can have all three connected and tethered and streaming music though things slow down a bit.
