Tap to Answer? Confirm to Dial?

We're having a couple of irritations with the dialer/recent call/phone history functions (sorry, I don't know the terminology) and I'm wondering if the way these things behave can be changed via a setting or with an app.

The more important problem is that we'd like to have a confirmation before make a call instead of it just doing it. In my case, it's just that I keep thinking I can tap on an entry in the recent calls list and edit it. Instead, it calls. In my wife's case, she seems to end up making unwanted calls when hanging up from a call she's made from that recent calls list. The best we can figure out is that she's hitting the hangup icon too hard/long/often and ending up doing a tap to the entry in the middle of the recent history screen (which is sitting underneath the hangup button). She'll put the phone down and then, after a while, notice that she's made a call without intending it.

The less important thing is that it would be nice to answer an incoming call with a tap on that flashing phone icon instead of sliding it. A big green answer button and a big red reject button (or something similar) would be nice.

I've tried wading through the Play store but can't find anything. Any recommendations?

Not sure I understand the issue. In the recent call log, if you tap on the phone icon to the right of the name it will initiate a call. If you tap to the left of the icon it will bring up the info.

Don't know what to say about your wife's issue except to be more careful.

Being able to just tap would allow the possibility of a call getting answered while in a pocket or purse without your knowledge.
