how do I find the task bar icon on a galaxy s5 I hold down the home key and it goes to google so that's not it I need to get to it to delete stuff but can't help

To locate your model version, go to...

Settings > More > About device > Model number

This will give you the model of Samsung Galaxy S5 that you have.

Are you new to smart phones? I'm not being an ***, just a bit lost. swiping down from the top of the screen will pull down notifications & such. Then you can tap on them or just swipe them away.
Otherwise you can just tap the square key to the left of the home button to bring up recent apps & swipe them away.
