AC Question

I have galaxy s5 tasker and secure settings installed I'm using cell near to turn on my wifi but I only found 1 tower and as soon as I receive a call or text it goes from wifi and shuts off the profile and my wifi. It looks like its lte for data and 4g for calls and texts. I've recreated the profile re-loaded tasker and re-created the profile. The profile has a name and I've turned API which works until I come back from work then won't turn on profile again. I've searched but no one seems to post a solution. The city is small so I only have the one tower near my house. New to tasker any help would be appreciated.

Create another profile, when you receive or make a phone call wait X mins (how ever many minutes roughly you'll be on the phone usually) before dropping out wifi. Invert this profile and link it to your original one. That should keep you connected to wifi while you're on the phone, and shouldn't effect any wifi connection when you get off the phone.

Or set a global variable when it's "cell nearby" and resets it when it exits cell nearby. If you get a call, wifi is off and the variable is set, turn wifi on.

I do something like that to not keep GPS popping up and down when using both MyDirections and Maps. If MD turned GPS on, and Maps is running, it won't turn GPS off on MD exit or on for maps. (It wouldn't hurt the GPS, but hearing "GPS off ... GPS on" [and mobile data gets triggered too, if wifi and mobile data are off] gets annoying.)

Cell nearby isn't really too useful for geofencing when you're in a small town. In midtown Manhattan, you can use it to tell you what building you're standing in front of, but in a town that would fit into Central Park (I live in one too), I'm "nearby" the cell almost anywhere in town. GPS fencing would be a lot more accurate, but use a lot more battery. Wifi fencing would be an in-between situation, but then you wouldn't need Tasker to turn wifi on.
