Tasks (ToDo) on Android

I have been trying to find a suitable app that can display Tasks from the calendar.

I run Thunderbird on my PC and have Owncloud hosted on a server. Both of these have a 'To Do List' (task) facility and they sync perfectly.

I also sync the calendar in Owncloud with the calendar in my Android devices (Phone and Tablet) but have as yet had no success in finding any way to display the Tasks (which I assume are syncing too - but just invisible)

Has anyone any suggestions (or comments) for this facility.

TIA

You could use the Google Tasks feature, which is integrated into the Gmail website (but unfortunately, not the Gmail app): https://www.gmail.com/mail/help/tasks/. If you set a due date on the task, it will automatically populate in the "Tasks" Google Calendar, which would be visible on your app. There is no native Google Tasks app (and for some reason, the To-Do lists created by Google Keep aren't integrated), but there are 3rd party apps that sync with Google Tasks, like GTasks or Tasks Free.

Thanks B.Diddy.

As mentioned in my original post, I use Thunderbird on the PC and Owncloud on a hosted server, to avoid using Google, for my contacts and calendars.
I sync the calendars using a standard caldav connection and the inbuilt tasks facility in Thunderbird on the PC is catered for in Owncloud BUT not on my Android devices - and that is what I want to overcome.

Oh, sorry--you hadn't mentioned initially that you were trying to avoid using Google apps.

As an aside, your post did prompt me to look at Google Tasks a bit more closely, and I like what I see now. I was previously using Google Keep as my task list, but Tasks works better for me now. Thanks! ;)

I have found the answer to my issue.

I installed this app to sync with my Owncloud calendar. This syncs the ToDo items as well as the events - unlike the other caldav clients I tried.

To display the tasks on the tablet/phone I then installed this app.

So problem solved.

There is also this app. This app has its own builtin caldav client, so it is not necessary for the calendar sync to need ToDo syncing built in to it. However this only syncs the tasks from the server to the phone and not the other way round - unlike the app above - although the developer says that will come in due course.
