Tax increase as of 4/1/13 - Get out of your contract and ETF!

Just got confirmation this morning that they will be letting me out of my contract without any ETF for both of our lines. We do not have any 4G LTE coverage for 9 states around us (Colorado) so I will be going over to either Verizon or AT&T. So it does work to get out of your contract, you just have 30 days to do after the price increase.

Good deal! What did they do to try and keep you as a customer? Anything? Did you call them or go to a corp store?

They have done nothing to try and keep me...kinda surprising. 10+ years and they didn't offer me squat. I had to call them and then it got escalated to a rep out of NY via email. I have everything in writing so they can't back out of the deal.

That's no good. I was a long time customer too for about 7-8 years. Then I went to att and haven't looked back!

Hopefully I can get out of my contract as well! Ready to jump ship to T-Mobile!

If tmo has towers in Vermont I would sign up too! I like the gsm networks. Way more phone options.

It's true I just talked with sprint today....however I don't really know if I wanna go to Verizon. I have witnessed their lte and it was impressive 13 to 15 mbs consistently. I dunno though just not a huge fan of Verizon but they def have better network around here and who knows when sprint is going to get there stuff together. As I told the sprint rep if it weren't for wifi at my house and at my work ( same story as my wife) are iPhone 5's would basically be useless for data, it struggles to do Facebook!!!!!!

Debating which service to go with right now. Our current contract runs out 4/6/13 and I need to be into a new service provider by then. It would be nice if Verizon would offer the S4 but I don't think they will. AT&T will do it on April 16th. So I could get into a new phone by then and just keep taking it back before the 14 days return policy is up. The coverage is about the same here for both carriers. Any recommendations?

I live in Kansas, which is next to Colorado. And Sprint not only has 4g, but there headquarters is 10 minutes from my house. BUT, I have Verizon so I dont know how good their 4g is.

You would think Sprint would turn on the LTE in Colorado since it is a major tourism spot during the winter months. Nope...not at all. Sure...they have 4G WinMax but that is all but useless now. But let's turn on LaCrosse Wisconsin and Puerto Rico??? Colorado....no...they can wait. Really? Just goes to show you where they have their priorities. It is nowhere near me so I am done with Sprint!

Sorry, but these kinds of posts just show how little most people know about Sprint NV. If you would like to enlighten yourself surf on over to http://s4gru.com and read up on the rollout.

I have actually been on there and reading updates and they are not too promising. Seems like the members are getting their sources from watching cell towers and how they are being built. Really? So now I have to drive around and watch cell towers to see if LTE is coming to Denver? The truth of the matter is that they have no clue as to when and where LTE will be in Colorado. Do I really want to stay with a company that continues to leave their customers in the dark? I read one person state that Colorado Springs won't get LTE until 2014. Really? Talk about behind the times. No wonder Sprint is losing their shirt. Call me when Sprint gets a clue.

/shrug. That could be up for debate. Sprint will always have customers who are left out since they can't upgrade every single place all at once... So someone will always be able to say "but they left me out!" if you can't / don't want to wait.. There are other carriers. No one is holding a gun to your head :).

Oh and they do care about tourism. Take a look at FL LTE :).

How do I go about getting sprint to relieve me of my contract so I could go month to month

If you truly have bad or no signal they may let you go. Or due to a price increase that started today you can call to tell them you don't agree with price increase and they will cancel your agreement. You may have to call several times and make sure to look on your Sprint bill to know exactly what the price increase is before you talk to them.

With tax increase you'll have a case but as for signal coverage, they have ok signal there so that won't work. But tmobile looks decent there.

Well, I tried yesterday and according to Sprint there are no taxes or surcharges changing on my bill.

I'm in NC, is this a regional thing or what exactly is that I can do to get out of the contract without paying any penalties?

Yeah they said the same thing to me I'm in OK so I'm not sure if its a regional thing or not
