TE6 update with camera focus fix rolls out Global/USA

The 6th update for the global, Exynos, model, SM-98*B, has been released for my unbranded U.K. Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G phone.

This is the much awaited update, G988BXXU1ATE6, is to correct the auto focus of the camera as well as fingerprint recognition and sound quality.

Build date = 14 May 2020

Samsung changelog for G988BXXU2ATE6...

Camera updated to version = 10.0.03.10

Android Security patch = May 2020

This is the 6th update in 75 days = 1 update every 13 days on average

Camera updated to version = 10.0.3.10

My camera version is 10.0.3.2. Wouldn't the 2 mean it's newer than the 1? I don't know, but I got the update for the camera two updates ago and my last update was on May 4th.

The camera vera version on the new TE6 release is, as stated in post #1, version 10.0.03.10

You camera version is 8 versions older, at 10.0.3.2

I think that @RickMG might mean the, "0", in front of the, "3", in the latest version.

My camera on the old TD3 & TD5 releases was indeed, 10.0.3.2 (However, in the Play Store this was referred to as camera version 10.0.03.2. See screenshot)

The TE6 update is now being rolled out for the U.S.A. models SM-G98*U for T-Mobile (USA) and Sprint

Interesting... whilst we have seen some USA Galaxy S20 phones receive the TE6 update with the camera autofocus fix and other goodies on their SM-G98*U models, (see post #13, above), those who have the SM-G98*U1 models are today receiving the older, TE4, build. Early reports suggest that this build does not have the coveted camera autofocus fix, Close-up zoom (Ultra only), improved fingerprint unlocking, etc; but they have received the June 2020 Android security patch.

So, it would appear that there is a 2 tier update system on the USA models of Galaxy S20's depending on the model number.

I can confirm. Frija had the TE6 TMB CSC and I downloaded and installed. It had the ability to remove the fingerprint animation and the macro zoom. Also, the focus quality was superb. I had it for a day and realized there was new newer final version, but the version number was TE4, which meant an earlier build. I wrongly assumed the updates were there but maybe there were stability issues. I installed it, but did not save a copy of TE6 so I am screwed. Does anyone have a copy of TE6? TE4 is nowhere near the zoom quality of TE6.

Have you tried SAMMobile for your model's firmware download?

So, it would appear that there is a 2 tier update system on the USA models of Galaxy S20's depending on the model number.

Basically the US unlocked model and carrier variants.

The US unlocked model is getting security patches regularly every month and even though the firmware versions aren't getting bumped up to latest the security patches are latest.

For the firmware versions, it might need carrier testing/approval which will take it's own sweet time and that's going to take longer.

So it's not simple in USA. There are multiple carrier variants with their own firmwares and US unlocked model with it's own firmware and they all receive updates as different rate and times with different firmware version numbers.

So you can't just say US receiving ATE6 update. While technically it's true as of now only T-Mobile has received that I believe and that was pushed with May security patch. The software update matrix in US is not starting forward.
