Two things that are important to me in a case (and I am picky) is drop protection and grip. My daily since I got the Note 8 has been the Otterbox Defender, I still think it's the beefiest, most protective case available however there is the trade off of bulk. I need a slimmer case for some occasions, I also have the Spigen Tough Armor which I love the kickstand feature however it's not comfortable to hold for long periods of time because of it's shape.
The Tech 21 was intriguing based on their drop protection claims in a thin form factor. Now I am in marketing so I don't easily fall for marketing fluff. These two drop test videos made me decide to try this case:

I have no doubt based on it's construction that for side and corner drops this case will be very protective and absorb impact. My big concern is front face drops, this case has a raised lip but no where near as pronounced as the Defender which has a very generous lip. If it falls flat on a flat surface I think it will be fine. It held up well in those drop test videos so I am optimistic but of course anything can happen and every drop is different.
The case fits really well and it's form factor is good, it is beefed up in the right places but doesn't feel big at all. It is very grippy which was a surprise, it looks like it would be slick based on the material but it's oddly grippy which I love. It feels good in the hands (Flossy Carter reference) also which is a bonus.
I may wind up using this as my daily and just use the Defender on occasion. These cases aren't cheap however they are a big step above those cheaper cases.
