Tax refund is in bank looking to get nexus 6. I read article's and watched the tutorials on YouTube.

The lack of a irs blaster doesn't bother me nor does not having a led indicator light.

The size and that its a Google phone is my two biggest draws too it.. The fact i will get updates sooner and potentially get them for possible up to two years since nexus 4 is running lollipop and before latest device such as htc, lg and samsung...

My two concerns are that i have seen issues with burn in screen and lagging with a 2.7 quad core there should not be a issue i woukd think...
So is the nexus a bust or just a few handful of people who are having these issues

I have not seen it lag, not even once. Smooth as butter. Haven't seen any screen burn in issues as of yet either. Great phone, I love the size. The color temperature of the screen is really warm. I am coming from the N5 which has a really cool color temperature, so it took some getting used to, and now I don't even notice. Battery life should be better, and I am hoping it is once they update the OS again. Excellent camera, I'd say somewhere between the note 4 and iPhone 6 in terms of quality.

I've only had mine for a day or so but after playing with it and having nearly every app on my phone open (along with several tabs) I had zero lag

Absolutely zero lag here! It is lightening fast. Only had it a week so can't comment on burn in. I haven't seen burn in on a phone since my 2010 Incredible.

Ok cool, current phone is a lg g3... Nice but has issues just over heats, freezes up att offers to switch it out... Not going to keep do that

Had mine since November, no burn in, battery easily beats my note3, no noticable lag. Not exactly a power user but do surf the web several time a day and night usually on WIFI. Bought from moto direct service on AT&T

I have had my N6 for a bit over a month. I came from a OnePlus One. Absolutely amazing device. Super smooth, never any lag, charges super fast. If I had to find something to nit pick it on, it would be battery life. Coming from an OPO I had insane battery life. The N6 isn't bad at all, but not OPO good. You won't be dissapointed.

The thing that would scare me the most about a the n6 is these stories of the back seperating and bulging out. I wonder how common if an occurrence this is?

Sometimes there is a very minor delay when opening apps, but it's not an annoying delay, but it's noticeable.

So far 1 month of me and nexus and we're one ******* happy couple I tell you.

Things I love so far:

- There is no lag, it works very smoothly, if it ever lags for a moment it's only when im picking up a person to call
- Fully supports bluetooth gamepads (I tested mine with some not-original PS3 bluetooth controller)
- There's no IR blaster that's true, but IT DOES HAVE a led, it just needs some playing with (root + lightflow app) and then it works, not the prettiest led out there but works.

- Camera beats the crap out of S5 which I believe is quite a feat seeing how poor camera nexuses had so far
- I am looking at my back everyday, so far no separating
- Battery is meh, but there's always hope that next lolipop version will boost it up a bit
- There's no any way to output video via cable (no miracast, mhl or slimport), only chromecast available for that

I've been an iOS user for 6 years and have dabbled a bit in android here and there. I had a HTC one M8 last year for a few days, was decent but I found it a little laggy (very little but noticeable). I bought a Samsung tab 4 and hated it. I found the lag so bad that I boxed it up and returned it.

I went out and got my nexus 6 this past Monday and all I can say is this bad boy is buttery smooth. Say what you will about iOS but it just runs so well. I'd say stock android on the nexus is very very close., if not equal. Coming from iOS I just can't believe the great experience I'm having with this device.

Got mine in late November. Have yet to experience lag. Of course, I never had lag with the N5 either. In another generation of phones, you may see some with more power that might open apps a split second faster, etc, but that'll always be the case. I haven't seen anything cause it to stutter.

Battery life isn't the best of any phone out there, but is very, very capable of making it through a full day for all but the most demanding of power users (and there's no rule that says you're not allowed to plug it in during the day).

If the size is a big draw for you, you'll love it. Fantastic screen, great for media and browsing. They could have gone with a lower resolution or smaller screen to enhance battery life, but it's unlikely you'll have an issue unless you plan on doing a lot of gaming (in which case you'll have an issue with pretty much any phone if you don't recharge during the day).

As to updates... the original Nexus 7 I got back in July '12 is still getting updates, now running on Lollipop, so the track record is pretty good on Google taking care of its Nexus users for a long time.

If size and Google updates is what draws you to the phone then you've already made your decision. Get it, you'll be happy. I myself had screen burn in right away, I'm talking a few days in (the on screen buttons) so I exchanged it and Motorola was good about sending me another one. I was more careful the second time, using a soft keys hiding app and also using the the inverted colors setting for texting and emails and such. However after a month in I could spot some burn In again, it was very faint and you had to look for it to see but I'm OCD about that kinda stuff so decided to just sell it and go back to my Nexus 5 for now. I have a Nexus 7 2013 as well so I've had lollipop since November so it doesn't feel like I'm missing much at all. Also picked up an iPad Air for killer price at Staples so I'm pretty satisfied and will anxiously await what Samsung and HTC have in store

I have no complaints. I'm loving this device a little over a month in. Its fast. The speakers are fantastic. The screen is great. I really like lollipop...it reminds me of webos. The battery life has been good for me. It's a great device. I'm happy I bought it. Did I mention it's fast? Because it is.

I haven't noticed any lag...the Nexus 6 is a quick phone. I haven't experienced screen burn in either. The battery drains a bit more than with my Galaxy S5 and if you use a standard charger instead of the included rapid charger... it will take noticeably more time to charge. It is after all a very large battery that has to power a very large screen. I am more than pleased with my Nexus 6. I came from the Samsung Galaxy S5 and I wouldn't go back.
