I tried that didn't work for me.

All,

Immediately after I updated to Jelly Bean I lost the ability to use continuous input typing.

if i go to setting.language and input, Samsung keyboard, continuous input is listed as an option, but I can't select it.

also, a helpful voice prompt informs me loudly each time i switch between home screens, and the only way I've discovered so far to mute this is to go to accessibility/turn off all sounds.

any suggestions on how to fix these problems?

thanks!

Install Nova Launcher...or another launcher of your choice. That's what worked for me (I already had Nova Prime installed). I had the same issue and there's no way I'm willing to do a factory reset for Touchwhiz. Nova is in my opinion 10 times better anyways.

is there a way to set some widgets to preview in nova launcher? for eg. i couldn't figure out how to change the settings on the calendar which defaulted to preview that day's events.

I'm assuming you are talking about the S planner widget? If so it only exists on Touchwhiz since it's a samsung specific widget. The google calendar widget isn't great, it only has a 1 x 3 size or something similar.

I absolutely hate the fact that you can't change the keyboard back to the way it was before the update. Also, I do not like the phone icon before the phone makes a call, as well as swipe lock screen. The only change I was hoping for was the "paste" option to become avail again. It was on my phone for a good bit, then I went to reboot it and when it came again, it was no longer avail.

Just got mine (Friday) from the slowest - Verizon. Don't really notice much change (speed or functions) except for Google Now. Although I know there is a more comprehensive list I didn't find much else that directly impacted my day-day use patter.
