Temporary FB deactivation and the effect on contacts?

Anyone know if I temporarily deactivate my facebook, will all my contacts then disappear since they are synced? I hunted on the net for an answer to this but didnt really find any I trusted. I only plan on deactivating it for a few days until some super-distracting drama blows over, but I wont do it if I'm going to have a ton of broken contacts.
