TestMashed?

So, I was looking around the "My Apps" section on Google Play and I scrolled over to "All" and started looking through the list to see if there was any apps I used to have that I wanted to reinstall.

I found two apps sitting way at the bottom that I had never seen before. One was called "Claymancal" which disappeared after a reboot. The other is called TestMashed. Both of these apps say "This version of the app is incompatible with your phone" despite saying "Installed" in the app list. There is no uninstall option.

"Claymancal" no longer concerns me since it disappeared, but I'm wondering what this TestMashed is. Any insight will help.

I had something like that happen back in April with the 3.5.15 version of the Google Play Store. I was seeing some app called "Test" showing. Others with HTC phone's were seeing the same thing according to comments in the store. Turns out it was actually some default program only on HTC phones and was showing up due to bugs in that version of the Play Store. It was fixed with subsequent versions (currently on 3.5.19). You can try clearing the data and cache in the Play Store app.

See this thread for more info:

I cleared cache and data but it's still there. I forgot to mention that I ran both Lookout Spyware and Adware checker and it found nothing.

I tried Googling TestMashed and the developer Cequint Inc. but I couldn't find anything.

HTC One here. Just noticed the same thing.
Indeed bothersome.

Note one of the reviews on the Play Store says TestMashed is malware. (not happy abt this if true.)

Problem is most people aren;t looking in the correct place and probably are not noticing this.
You have to go to Google Play Store > Your Apps > Then "swoosh" to the right so that you are viewing the column called "All" not simply "Installed"

Now scroll down near the bottom of the "All" list of Apps and look for TestMashed.

If anyone has further information or is also seeing this please chime in.

**(edit)**
After further Googling it appears TestMashed is an App from a compnay named TNS, formerly Cequint Inc
Late in 2011 Apple sued Cequint Inc alleging Cequint Inc was infringing on their Caller ID patents.

Searching Google Play Market from PC says the App does not exist.

I just checked mine this morning and it's there now, says installed: TestMashed by CEQUINT INC. It has a date of May 29, 2012 and says at the top though: "Your device isn't compatible with this version." I haven't installed anything new and have auto updating turned off.

I'd almost bet this is another bug with Google Play like back in April I posted above. This app is basically City ID, a bloatware app Verizon puts on their phones and the Play Store is misidentifying things (again). No worries. :)

So is TestMashed possibly some kind of companion app with CityID and, after the lawsuit, was somehow improperly uninstalled?

Eh, at least it's nothing malicious. Thanks all for the help!

FYI, I just noticed that TestMashed no longer shows up for me. Not sure when that happened, may have been days ago. So it had to have been Google Play misidentifying a Verizon bloatware app again, in this case City ID. :(
