Has anyjuan tried the new Tether app?
Do we need an app for Froyo?

It is awesome! I have not used it with my X yet, but plan too. I have used it in years past. I have used it primarily when I am on vacation/trips, where hotels charge for wi-fi. It isn't the fastest in the world, but works for e-mail, general browsing on your laptop.

I have been pleased with it.

BTW--- it is a two part software download. Your phone needs the app, then your laptop needs the software. You basically 'connect' on both devices and you are set to go.

There a hack for the built in 3g mobile hotspot app but you have to be rooted. Works better than ad-hoc tether connections. Search for it over at xda-developers forums.
